At age 15, she fell in love with an 18-year-old boy who was gay. She kept him in her life for 30 years. He was like a big brother, became the Godfather of her daughter and became a member of the family. Her husband also has many gay friends. Her daughter, now married, started painting prides comprised of male lions at the age of ten. Now she's launching a non-profit co-operative called "Somewhere Around The Rainbow" to network with other artists interested in doing gay positive art.
